Still haven't road tested the 86GT yet but it does seem alright. Lately I've been working with the AC system. I picked up a gauge manifold and can't seem to make heads or tails of the readings. The low side fluctuates a great deal when the compressor runs, then stops. I did manage to get the system to take in one can of R134a; I think it is 14 ounces. I know the coolant leaked out and last fall I replaced the low port valve, which was where the leak was. Bubbles last time it was charged. I know the system works when charged as the components are not more than four years old. Original compressor rebuilt for 134a in 2015. Stopped working summer of 2016 and as I haven't really used it since then...
Well maybe someone can help. Now the compressor runs for about two seconds then stops for five. It won't take anymore coolant but seems like it needs another can. Low pressure readings go from maybe 20 to 50 as the compressor cycles. High port hovers near 80 and barely moves.
Sounds like a compressor problem, eh? Great. More money. Ideas most welcome. Thanks.
