I went to drive to work this mornin after feelin the slight miss I had over the weekend and problem has gotten a little worse. So I went on ahead changed the cap and rotor plugs and plug wires and I still have a pretty bad miss. Car is a stock 88 gt. I'm still learnin about these so some questions may be stupid but do the fuel injected 5.0's come with a choke? Would it be possible to have the choke sticking on the car causing the bad missing granted I have a choke. Also could it be 02 sensors I dunno if the car has these either? I don't have a timing light so i can't really look at that either. Please help a.s.a.p cars kinda my only transportation.

I searched around a little and the tfi looks like a simple replacement if I was lookin at the right stuff. Just for a little schoolin what does (tfi) mean and what exactly is the dizzy? I see it all the time in the threads just never knew what exactly it is. Also I noticed Pip being mentioned a good bit whats that? Thanks for the help guys hopefully I can get this sorted out by the weekend.

First... you don't have a choke on an EFI car.

Next... try removing your spark plugs one at a time (motor off).
Strip the boots off the end of the wires (carefully) and inspect the terminal ends for rust/corrosion.
If you see some, wire brush them and use some Mothers (or equivalent) chrome polish along with half a q-tip on the end of a dremel drill to polish them to a mirror finish.

It might sound stupid but you'd be suprised how many times this little trick has worked and it doesn't cost you anything to try.

do what the others have said about checking fuel pressure and codes...also the coil might be going bad. as the insulation or wiring inside the coil breaks down it will still fire but will miss as engine load increases. there are resistance values out there for the primary and secondary circuits in the coil.

I only run 93 octane in it. I noticed it with a little labor knock under low rpms so I just went ahead and started puttin 93 in it and it went away. I guess I'll pull codes after I look at the coil.

sounds like the engine runs a little warmer than normal or there is carbon buildup in the combustion chamber....try running some engine cleaner through the gas tank...like lucas or seafoam and see if that helps the car at all.
