stock modern stang gauges in classic

Hey I just got a cobra T5 with an electronic speed sender, and I have an HEI distributor, but its carburated without a computer. I have the stock speedo and tach, the tach works, but the speedo wont now with the new electronic sender. I want to put in electronic gauges in it, but don't like the price tag for some decent ones. Has anybody toyed with the idea of using stock gauges from a newer stang? I would like to, but figured they wouldnt work without the computer. Has anybody done this or does anyone have any knowledge about these new gauges? Is there anyway to get them to work without the computer?

i thought T5 have both a electrical and mechanical hookup for the speedo.

You don't need to use the electric one, just put a speedo gear in it, and use the speedo cable.

I think that making the modern Mustang gauges work will not be an easy task. I doubt they will fit right either.
