stock rear susp. and alot of torque

ok I know this is a mustang only site but Iam looking for opinions on good rear susp. set ups mine is currently stock with 9in and 411's my 393 is done and will make alot more power than my 289 did. I need some advise on how to put the power to the ground without breaking leafsprings. the car is a 67 cougar orig. had a eight in. rear only mod is 9in and 411's. thanks

use a set of underride traction bars similar to the ones shelby used. they will control spring wrap up and prevent breakage.

And to take that one step further, use the TCP subframe connectors, they provide a pocket for the front of the under rider to weld into giving you a very strong and safe mount. I have this set up with my 408 cleveland stroker motor and I get no axle wrap and can just straight roast street tires if I want to

You may want to consider reinforcing the spring perches on the axle housing.
Some small gussets welded fore and aft is a good precaution.
Mine were crushed under some hard lauches and acceleration, and rolled the axle up on the springs
