The knob currently in my car is way too hot in the summer and cold in the winter so...
Does anyone know where i can get a stock shifter knob that comes on the GT's?
i thought this was a little too much $ ? maybe not..

I have the stock one from my 96 if you want it. I have no real use for it anymore. It is just the plastic one tho...the one in that link you show is the same one I replaced it with but I got it for 14.95 from one of the online sites....I'll try to remember where and give you the link.

Sam, what kind of knob are you looking for. We have a whole bunch of different types if you want to come up and take a look. I can get you a deal on them too.

Related (perhaps stupid) question...is the stock GT shift knob actually made of leather? I can't tell on mine...could be vinyl for all I can tell.

The Ford literature always mentions the leather-wrapped steering wheel, but never the shift knob being likewise...

Anyway know?

I believe the steering wheel, shifter knob, shifter boot and emergency brake boot are all leather but Icould be wrong. I love how they talk about the seats having leather seating surfaces or something like that.

My shift and e-brake boots are definitely vinyl...but I have only a "Deluxe" model GT, and cloth seats...it's an '02, so maybe things have been upgraded since.

I checked the Ford site, and it specifies that a leather shift knob comes with the "interior upgrade package", so that would seem to indicate that the regular knob isn't. But who knows with Ford...

Not that it really matters all that much to me...just curious.

I have a Deluxe Model '04 GT. I didnt want to pay extra for stuff I didnt want(Leather Seats, Mach 460 etc...) and mine has a leather Shifter, Shift Boot, Steering Wheel and Ebrake.

Sam- The link you posted isn't too bad price wise. My shifter knob is like $55. More money for the extra number maybe

I never was a fan of the metal knobs....like the Mach 1's and Steeda's.

this is true, i had to use a MAC billet one for a while on my 93 when i was waiting for my B&M to come in and that thing would get sooooooo freakin hot during the day you couldnt shift without putting a towel over the shift knob, literally
