Well just got done installing my autometer phantom digital shift light pro gauge and guess what? My stock tachometer was 300 rpms off....not only that but my boost doesnt even really kick in until about 4500-5k rpms. So this explains why i lost a race to a mach 1, ive been driving my car like a grandma and not even taking advantage of my powerband because ive been shifting so early.
Anyway i was skepticle on getting an aftermarket tach and shift light but i gotta say it was well worth the money and i fully recommend it to anyone. I dont know if everyone's stock tach is as far off as mine is but if it is your really missing out on a lot of powerband, especially if your paranoid about blowing your motor like me, ive got the shift light set at 6k rpms and i can really feel the extra power pull on after 5500rpms
