I have an '02 GT and bought a Ford Racing 70mm TB for it a while back. Now a year later, a friend told me that my car came with a 70mm from the factory. I thought it came with a 65mm. Now come to think of it, when I did the swap I didn't notice much of any visual difference. Please someone set me straight!! I was told that '02 was the first year of a fatter intake elbow and bigger TB, but my friend is kinda a "Know-it-all". Any ideas?? Thanks

I once read on here that the 02-04 GT's come equipped with a "69mm throttle body". I don't know how accurate that report was but I do know that I have an 01 GT and the stock throttle body that came with it was a 65mm.

NOTE: You shouldn't expect to see any noticeable seat of the pants gains with just a throttle body, especially on a relatively stock n/a GT.

SOTP gains on my TB were slim to none... But add a MAF kit and DAAYUM!

Dark Knight: Did you notice anything with your intake spacer? I just bought one from Steeda... Was it worth the money?

Thanks!

The 2001-2003 came with a 69mm TB. Basically a 70mm.

I am pretty sure that all 99+ GT's came with 65mm TB's. I know mine has 65mm, why would newer ones come with larger???

I noticed the car has bit more power in mid range but nothing I'de go bonkers over. Its a worth while mod. Starkie got good dyno results with his but how much power he gained, I'm unsure.

I have a 01 Mustang GT and it only came with a 65mm throttle body. I think I can still remember the older debates and I'm almost positive that the 02+ GT's are suppost to have a 69mm throttle body.

I didn't measure, but couldn't see any size difference between our TBs (an 01 and 02) - I put them nose to nose and they were exactly the same size. I didn't measure the business end however.

I just read recently that the 96-98 were 65mm and the 99+ were all 66.5mm. I think it was in Sean Hyland's book.

My '02 Gt had a 65 or 66 mm TB on it. With it sitting next to the 70mm FRP one you could easily tell the difference.

Well, if SHM's book says that, I'de be more likely to trust their accuracy than ours. Just my .02 cents.
