Is there any way to know if I have the stock tune in the car without going to the dealer? I bought my 2001 GT second hand and I don't know what the history is...
the car has flowmasters and a K&N. That's it as far as I know. What if the "new tune" was added like a Hypertech does it where there is no chip but just a swap of a program? How many other tuners work that way? How would I find the computer and where would the chip reside?
If someone programmed the car with a diablo, SCT, etc they most likely would have deprogrammed it before selling or sold the programmer with the car since the programmer is useless until it puts back the factory tune on the original car.
With those mods its more than likely stock. If its something you are really concerned about, when you eventually get an SCT xcal, you can get on SCT's forums and get a stock tune from them.
