it's pretty much the same thing, just the chip is seperate from the key. so they could have the key (somehow) and still not start the car.
I don't see how that makes it harder to steal. Mustang with the PATS system won't start without the chiped key.
I went out to start my car this morning to let it warm up. 5 min later I was on my way out to head to work when all of a sudden I hear my car start revving. Now, my car has idleing issues so I didnt really think anything of it. So as I open my door and step outside I see my car SCREAMING past my house down the street. This is such a hollow feeling... I get in my moms grand am and try to follow but I didnt find him
Any guidence? I called the police, they looked for it for about 15 minutes and ran a report and then said there is nothing more they can do..
So now I have no mustang. What the F do I do now?
on the STI, they are harder to steal. There's a chip under the steering column that you can take out and the car will not start w/o it. so i guess theives could put it on a rollback and steal it that way, but driving off with it...can't w/o the chip. (I only know this because a friend has one haha)
Actually, I was just making fun of the fact that of all vehicles, he brought an STi into the thread, but thanks for the info anyway.
Yeah, I have been looking at 02-04 GTs. I think it would be fun starting all over again, but only if I can get all my money back from the parts that were stolen with the car. It would really suck to have to buy all that all over again. I guess we will see...
Thank god I live on the west side. Sorry bro about your car but from what I have seen that is not the best place to live. I guess that is from what I have seen and what the guys at work have told me.
