Hey guys. I have a 1997 Cobra, and I need to find the storage pocket/compartment part that goes underneath the radio. Currently, it has the original cd player, which isn't connected since I put a clarion cd player above it. I've only seen it on stangparts.com, and they want $25 for it. Anyone on here have one they wanna get rid of, or know of a better place to find one? I've looked on ebay, but can't seem to find one unless I buy the whole dash bezel. Also, would it be worth replacing the factory speakers in the mach 460 sound system? It's pretty loud, and clear now, but has anyone heard much difference by replacing the factory speakers? Thanks.

Aftermarket speakers are always going to sound better and be louder than anything stock. I got rid of my whole mach system last year and I love it. As for the thing under the dash, go to www.sounddomain.com or www.crutchfield.com they should have something for ya. I think I got mine at sounddomain....not sure though

I bought mine from a local car audio shop, it was $24. But I'm going to get rid of it in a month or so since I'm mounting gauges in that space. Remind me and hold on to it for ya.

Thanks guys. myearshurt, were u able to replace the tweeters and keep them in the mach460 cases without ripping them apart? I've seen a few at car shows that just cut the cloth off the thing to get them in...Didn't look good. Other than the stereo, I'd like to keep everything pretty close to stock. I'll prolly change the driveshaft to aluminum, h-pipe and flowmasters, and air intake, but that's about it. I had a 95 GT before i got this 97 Cobra, and its like driving a totally different car. Suspension, Power, Everything is great on the cobra Problem is I still have my 1990 GT, thats gonna sit now Might try it on ebay...

I didnt replace the tweeters at all, I just removed them. Get a good set of 2 ways for the doors, like Infinity Kappa, then you wont need the tweeters at all. If you want to get a set of components (tweeters and mids seperate) then you can just fabricate something to hold the new tweeters in place. That panel just pops off on top of the door, then you can just swap em out. Good luck, ask if you need any help.
