Strange Hang in throttle

Not quite sure how to explain this, but here it goes.

When I rev my engine, to show off my exhaust for instance. It takes a really long time for the RPM's to drop back down. I have an Auto so if I do this while driving (drop in neutral) I have to wait to put it back in drive or else it jerks due to the high RPM. Is it suppose to do this? What's casuing it? Can I change it so the RPM's drop faster? Any help is appreciated.

I have a V6 that does the same, Might be a sticky throttle cable

My car does the same thing. Don't thing you could have the RPMs drop faster tho, or I could be wrong.
