You can say that because it was your car. Dont piss on us because were throwing out ideas, he had already replaced the oil filter.
ok...so I was driving the car ths past week and the oil presure would go up and down real erratic, so I got oil, and a filter and changed it (used 10w30) and it still does it.
Mechanical guages do not normally have issues unless they are leaking, he mentioned watching the guage and associated it with RPM...
idle it has like 20 psi and if I increase the RPM's slow it climbs to about 40 psi. If I nail it it drops way down below 20 psi then climbs up slowly.
That leaves one thing folks, and I hope I am wrong but, blockage somehwere, I'll tell you what, based on the original description there is still a problem...[/Q. UOTE]
No-NO-NO Just because it was and is my car does not mean anything. I am not pissing on anyone. I just do not think " dropping the pan " is a good idea to throw out there. Let me ask this, if you were to drop the pan ,with this problem ,what would you expect to see?? Exactly!! you don't know!! So why not take a diagnostic aproach first? I like to go in reverse. WHAT was the LAST thing I did before the problem. If for instance I rewired something, now the alt is not charging. I am not going to yank & replace the alt/regulator/batt/etc. ( which some people would do) I would go back and check the wiring. I am going to give credit where credit is due though. That leaves one thing folks, and I hope I am wrong but, blockage somehwere, I'll tell you what, based on the original description there is still a problem...
