That stinks, from what company?

Boeing just doesn't get it, and the public doesn't either sometimes. We didn't ask for bonuses etc... ( so we are not greedy) just better retirement and protecting what we already went out on strike for in the past. Sorry I had to vent

I totally understand what you are going through. We have been in negotations since the first of July, and still not getting anywhere. It's typical corporations trying to get the best of it all. They can't operate without you guys on the job. I think they will come around to the union's demands.

I am a fellow lazy B employee. I am in SPEEA though. I was in the iam for 6yrs, before the last layoff.
I have read both of the contract summaries, one from the company and the other from the union.

Boeing is trying to bait you guys with the bonuses. The loss of retirement medical for new employees is ridiculous. I am sorry that things didn't work out better.
Having seen what the company offered the IAM, I am very concerned about what I will see in the speea contract. At least the iam is unified and will let the company know what is important to them. Not real sure about speea yet.

Wish you the best
jason

Ok now from Boeing's perspective how is this even remotely progressive? I mean Airbus is kicking thier behinds right? So why make a bad thing worse by delaying shippments to existing customers? *shrugs* the euro trash use a consortium of federal cost ceilings on parts materials etc to offest the costs...so it's very hard for Boeing to competitive. We have the best Aerospace workers in the world...we need to enchance them not marginalize them.

All I know is my call back rights are gone Dec. 19. By striking that pretty much sealed the deal on any possibility for me to go back. Oh well, I didnt want to paint no damn airplanes anyway.

For those of you not lucky enought to be walking along Sandy in front of PDX Boeing you missed a good smokey burnout. We had to make a tire frying 3rd to 4th gear pass by there today. Not sure if anyone saw the humor in it like we did.

What are the issues behind your strike? The only thing we heard off the news was everyone wants an annual $6K a year bonus?

Just FYI we did not ask for bonuses. They are dangling a carrot in front of the people called back from layoffs. Four 4000 of them; they needed 6100 to get the contract voted in they failed. Here is a link to the proposal so you can see the kind of S... they try to pull and the public doesn't see. We all know we make a good wage ,we never asked for a wage increase either. But we get yelled at by people and reamed in the papers by our neighbors( letters to the editor). When these people call us greedy its obviusly out of ignorance. They don't know that us employees contribute over 30 million to puget sound agencies. IE red cross, boys and girls club ETC.. I think we do our part for the community. These people go to the agencies and use the services that probably wouldn't exist if it weren't for the very people they call greedy. But do we get a thank you! Hell no

Sorry I had to vent
