Striped interior, Help close up holes

well i just picked up a 87 coupe 5.0 swap.the interior has been gutted except dash, gauge cluster, door panels and 2 seats...not what should i use to close up all the holes in the firewall...i may want to put the heater core back in though..also what can i put in the shifter area to close up that hole so i dont have anything flying up inside...

sounds to me like sheet metal and a bit or welding would do the trick.

For the shifter do you have access to a JY? Purchasing a replacement lower boot is likely the best solution.

EDIT: I saw your other post that this was a 4cyl conversion car. It's not easy cleaning up after someone else's build. GL with your new project car.

i thought about welding the sheet metal in, but then i thought about just sticking sound deadener there, would that work? yes i have access to a junk yard, ill be going there sunday to find a boot thank ya!

yea it def gonna be a project car...

You might want to look into Por 15 epoxy, i've read that some guys use it to fill the holes in there engine bay.

Sound deadener wont' keep mice/bugs/water out of your cabin. Unless this is a strip only car that will spend it's time inside i'd spend the time now to fix up the holes once and be done with it. You'll be kicking yourself later when dust and mice have found their way into your car. POR-15 is a paint that many people have used on this site to undercoat their cars. It cleans up great and is quite a bit tougher than undercoating.

Por 15 also makes putty, fillers and sealers besides there paints.
