So I got new rotors for my car since theyre both warped from when I bought it. I started on the passenger side and it went smooth. Got to the driver side and both of the 15mm hex caliper bracket bolts are rounded off. Didnt have the time to get to them off today but I was wondering if anyone knew the size off the top of their head so I can try and find a replacement. My parts guys determined not to look it up for me because he thinks we can just find something in the parts room thatll work. Id rather have the factory bolts but Ive yet to find any on Ebay or online anywhere else. Anyone have any extras laying around? Know of a place that might have them? All I can find are the slide bolts. I mea at the end of the day I guess the same size bolt with a washer will do the job, Id just be alot happier with stock bolts.

The factory bolts are expensive, but recommended. I threw the old ones out & bought new ones from diversified.
Why not go 1st class--they're you brakes!

I totally agree with you, I just havent been able to find any place that carries the bolts. Everyone and their mom has the slide bolt but Ive yet to come across the bracket bolts. May have to break the parts guy down and have him order them. He doesnt seem to like to order parts for the techs personal rides.

Yep. they are like $6-8 each but worth it.

Go to the dealer, take the caliper with you to make sure it is right. I went this route... It is not worth wondering if they are safe or not...

I had to grind the head off of mine to get them off. At least I was putting in the Cobras so I didn't need to get them out of the bracket.

I busted like 3 or 4 sockets trying to get them out... Tried leverage, the impact wrench, heat, penetrant, everything... Nothing worked for me..

Yeah when I looked at them I could tell someone either stripped them out tightening or trying to get them out so I hoped for the best, hammered on a 15mm impact socket... and it just spun. I work at a dealership so Im going to try another go round with the parts guy. Like I said, hes real anal sometimes when it comes to ordering parts for the techs.

Dont suppose you recall the part number or have the slip still do you? That way I can look it up myself.

If I am thinking of the same bolts you are, I ended up twisting one of mine off and it was a pain to get a replacement. The rebuild kits that I ordered only had the slide bolts in them. The dealership ended up getting the wrong parts for me 3 times before they finally got it right. I even took another bolt in to show them what it looked like.

If I remember it correctly, the bolt only shows up in one exploded parts drawing, but I can't remember which one.

Luckily my parts guys pretty good, I just have to convince him to actually look it up for me. Techs arent allowed in the parts area.

Youd think so anyways, but sometimes its like pulling teeth. Itd almost be easier to go to another Ford store and order them but Id get overcharged.
