Why do you want to add stroke to your motor? If you are staying normally aspirated or adding a centrifugal type supercharger( Procharger, Vortech ), you will be wasting your money...

That said, Ford does not offer a stroked crank, so you would need to contact a performance shop that sells strokers. I personally do not like strokers for the Ford modular V8's so I can't tell you who to get it from. I personally like Modular Performance and they do have some stroker options available now. I have heard good things about Larry_H from Modular fords as well as Adam at ST.

Eagle makes astroker forged crank for the 4.6 3v, it has a 3.75" stroke with a 5.950" rod length, and it yeilds 297 Cu In with the stock bore.

If you want a stroked motor, just waite untill the 09 Gt comes out, they will have a5.0 3V. Then buy a short block from ford. Shouldn't be much difference in price from what the 4.6 short block cost now. That would be the cheapest and easist way to storke our cars. Hear some talk of guy's wanting to trade in for the 09 for the added cubes. I feel we have to much time and money invested to trade, makes more sense to upgrade to the bigger block and won't raise our car payment. We will have to see how this all plays out, but from what I understand, the new 5.0 3V will be just a stroked 281, so a short block swap should be the ticket for all of us wanting a few more cubes.

The info I have for 2009 is that the 5.0L will be the Big-Bore 5.0L which is the right way to increase displacement in these motors.

Yeah, it's supost to be like the 5.0 in the Pernelli Jonse edition Sallen, which is a stroked 3V. Makes sense as it will also help us pre-09 stang owners with a short block swap. Also just saw in my latest edition of MM&FF, that ther racing a 7 liter mod motor in an 06 stang. Roush and ford are doing the work and Don Bowles is racing it. Makes 800 hp all motor and thier running it on E-85. So if 302 isn't enough cubes, we could have a 7 liter available to us in the near future. We know it will fit seeings how they have it in an 06 GT right now. It's an exciting time to be a mustang owner.

My source for my info is from Ford itself. The 5.0L coming out in 09 is different than the Saleen you are talking about. It will be 304CI, not 302CI, it will be a Big-Bore and not a Stroker.

As far as I am concerned, MMR can keep it...
