I'm having my lowerend rebuilt with all forged internals. My question is is it worth stroking. I just got trick flow heads. It's a 4.6 2v out of a 99 Mustang GT.
The mod motor makes power best with boost and RPM. With how small the difference in power is I would rather the piston travel less distance and instead focus on increasing airflow / redline.
If you are trying to squeeze all the juice out of a NA motor you would probably produce the best numbers with aggressive cams / a stroke kit / bore it and spin it to the moon (those trickflow heads like rpms). Otherwise if an aggressive NA motor is not your goal - like I said before - I’d skip the stroke kit, forge the internals, and focus on increasing RPM / improving airflow / getting more boost in there.
