The 331 has a 3.25" stroke crankshaft, the 347 has a 3.4" stroke crankshaft. There may be other differences, but that is the largest between the two.

The part about rod to stroke ratios makes me understand why people rarely seem to go bigger than 408 on a 351-based stroker.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

There are stock production motors that have worse rod to stroke ratios...anything over a 4-4.1" stroke makes pistons a challenge for clearance.
