I'm interested to know if it's possible to drop my shortblock with new heads and cam while leaving the intake and exhaust stock for the next few months while i accumulate parts to complete the build...

I know this isn't ideal for performance, but what would be necessary to get it operational and reliable for the short term?

Thanks fellas...

You can do that until you get the cash for the proper parts.

Would i need any fuel delivery upgrades? I figured if something had to be changed this would be it...Maybe an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

You will need a god fuel pump, injectors and mass air. What size injectors depends what your combo is. I run 30's on my 347.

Coast says 331s will even work with iron heads...what do you think of this?

Just out of curiosity,
anyone want to guess how this combo will run:

Coast 331 balanced and blueprinted short block
Stock iron truck heads (89 Bronco) resurfaced on the cheap by local machine shop
Coast 1.6 roller rocker arms
Stock truck cam- non roller hydraulic lifters
Stock truck intake
JBA headers, single exhaust with hi flow cat and flowmaster 40 series
Older Paxton supercharger 6 lbs of boost I think, fwill be freshened before re-installed
19LB injectors
Rusty stock truck valve covers (you thought stock Mustang valve covers were bad?)
Sachs clutch kit (for Mazda/toyo koygo trans)

Looking for max torque and smoothness for an '89 Bronco with piston slap

I can say off the top of my head that you'll need more fuel than the 19lb injectors can supply, but how about starting your own thread buddy?

Back to the original topic though, doing the fuel pump, mass air, and injectors is pretty much doing the whole fuel system. Is this simply beneficial or is it necessary? I figured i might be able to deliver enough fuel with an afpr...
