I am thinking about going with the 351w and doing the stroker kit on it for the 383. I have plans for supercharging in the future and such, and was wondering if anyone has done this before and if they know any good stroker kits, etc. Thanks

One piece of advice I can give you is to go with at least a 408 stroker to make it worth it.

make sure that even though its 600 cheaper, make sure the components are the same quality. make sure the pistons are of the same grade, the crank is of the same grade and the rings are too. dollar wise, its cheaper, but in the longer run is it really worth the savings?

I couldn't agree with this more.

Call Jim, talk to him for a little bit... You won't be disappointed.

For more options...

Rick91_GT off this site, builds those all day.

RNH Performance -Street and Race Engines, Custom Fabrication

Also, Brian at AD Performance, Your Source for Longblock Performance Parts has been doing this longer than anyone mentioned.

They also will sale you things you do not need and will not cut corners.

Good Luck with whatever you choose.

I've read that the rod/stroke ratio of those bigger strokers aren't good for reliability in a boosted combo, simply because the piston side loading is higher. But I have heard of people successful with boost on 408s. Like said above, make sure it has quality components!
