Roush strut bushing?

from what ive heard saleens had a differant style strut mount bushing ( the look like of onion shaped) how do i change these? and where can i find replacements?

an auto parts store should have them. that part is originated from the SVO so just ask for the 84-86 SVO bushing.

awsome, thanks, do places like autozone and kragen stock svo parts? or should i go to the ford dealership? also, how do i change them? and i have some poly strut bushings for the normal fox strut mounts would it be a bad idea to swap strut mounts so i could use those?

The onion mounts have more adjustability than the stock strut mounts,
that's why Saleen used them or so I've been told.

Autozone or Kragen might not have them in stock but they should be able to order them.

how do you adjust them? and how do i change them out? do i have to pull the strut?

its just a bushing assy & not adjustable. the castor & camber plates are whats adjustable but the factory cast. & camb. plates are very limited in adjustability. i think maybe the onion head bushing assy was used for a little more strut/suspension travel.

The SVO Mustang "onion head" strut mounts used on the late 80's Saleens are non-adjustable. They were used by both Ford SVO & Saleen because they offered a stiffer upper mount for the front McPherson (modified) strut assemblies than the standard OEM mounts. They earned the "onion head" nickname because of the shape of the mount appeared to resemble an onion.

They still should be available as a replacement part by FoMoCo.

Go to the dealership and tell them you have an SVO. They won't stock them but they can order them.
