Hi all,
I have just purchased complete strut rod bushing kit from laurel mustang. being a novice mechanic , i removed the old bushes without making a note how they were fitted. so i will really appriciate if someone could tell me how to fit the new bushing kit.
Mant thanks

a good inspection of the rod under the stock rubber bushing will tell the tale. i seriously doubt poly bushings caused perfectly good rods to fail. put poly bushings on rotted out rods and failure is sure to happen. if the rods are in good shape go with new bushings (rubber or poly), if the rods are beat then replace with the good stuff available.

No, I've seen this happen to strut rods that have been sandblasted and thoroughly inspected. That said, it seems to be a 67+ thing due to the relative position of the bushing and the threads on those strut rods, but I still wouldn't run poly, as it would cause the strut rods to act differently and take higher loads than what they are designed for. With adjustable strut rods, it's a moot point. :D
