Strut Tower Brace Question

Does anyone know if the strut tower brace from an 03 cobra would fit in a 97 GT...I'm asking b/c it looks to be the only brace that would clear the JLT CAI.

Would the bolt pattern line up?

it'll bolt up but it wont clear the hood

nope wont fit,been there done that,go to the boneyard and find a 96-98 car that has it factory,i found one and paid $10 for mine

I already have a factory brace, but it won't fit w/ the JLT cold air induction kit. Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket hoods that will provide clearance for the 03 cobra brace?

I'm leaning towards this hood, but won't get it unless I know it'll fit.

Have you looked into an aftermarket STB for clearance of the intake instead of having to buy an whole new hood? MM's or Steeda's as an option? Here's a pic of my engine bay with Steeda's STB and Densecharger TB tube to give you an idea of what it looks like. Took a little wrestling, but got it in there with no clearance issues.

Compared to the factory STB, Does that Steeda STB give you a decent amount more clearance right over where the CAI kit is located?

Sorry, my '98 didn't come with a factory STB, so I can't say how much more space is there compared to a stock 96/97 STB, but there is definately a bump above where the TB tube is located. Here is a different angle that may show the STB a little better in relation to the intake tube.

Thanks for the different angle pic, it looks like it may just work... I just found a place that sells Steeda parts nearby and am going to see if I can try the bar on before I buy it.

Indeed...that looks like the the extra lift in the STB to clear the intake...Thanks!

Sorry, but no STB will clear the JLT. It's much bigger then all the others in that area.
