strut tower brace question

anyone know for a fact which strut tower brace will fit around an edelbrock RPM II intake? The intake is massive and one brace I tried did not fit (not sure of brand, friend gave it to me for free to try and it had no markings on it at all)

call Maximum Motorsports and ask them which of their braces, if any, will clear your particular intake manifold, they'll be able to give you an idea of which will clear... when i called they told me the brace designed for carbed cars would give me more room, but your cold air intake (if you have one) will be an issue as well

I don't have the Performer RPM but I have the regular performer and my bar fits fine. I am not sure about the RPM II, though. That intake is quite large.

The bar I have is a steeda bar and I have had it for about 5 years. I looked it up on their web site and it looks like they still sell the same one. Below is the link to the bar and pictures of how it fits.

What bar would fit with a 1" phenolic spacer...?I too would like to know.Trick Flow intake BTW.

i have the trick flow track heat manifold, and the Maximum Motorsports strut tower brace clears, but i don't run a phenolic spacer

i don't think so, honestly... the main problem is dependent on what kind of CAI you're running, anything but the stock air box will not clear the brace... it's hard to see from the photo, but mine is actually contacting the brace right now, and putting it an inch higher would make it nearly impossible to put on/off


best bet is to call Maximum Motorsports and talk to a tech, because i believe the strut tower brace designed for carb instead of EFI gives you more clearance to work with, good luck

Thanks for your responses to my question. I suppose I am going to need to make a few phone calls to determine which brace should fit. I'm also running an anderson power pipe which, like my intake, is GI-NORMOUS. I'll update this thread once I get a definite answer.

uh oh, i didn't realize you were running an AFM power pipe, there isn't a strut tower brace on God's green earth that will clear that monstrosity hahaha

Perhaps with some MacGuyver-ing I can get one to fit

Yeah, it might be tough with the power pipe. More power, or stiffer handling....Looks like you are going to have to make a choice.
