STRUT wont reach spindle

Just pressed in my new BJ, bolted on spindle to BJ...went to bolt strut to spinde housing but the hole dont reach by 1"...guess the strut contracted by 1" when i unbolted it HOW can i extend the strut by 1" so the holes line up?

the strut should extend itself downward if it isnt connected. have you tried to jack up the LCA so the spindle is raised ?

its still connected at the top in the engine compartment

ive got a jack under LCA still ...tried jacking it more to reach strut holes but it just lifts the hole car instead of compressing coil spring

Loosen up the control arm bolts themselves to allow the control arm move more freely there. I had to do that myself to get the arm to have more movement. That should give you the movement you need to get it connected.

found out what to do on yahoo answers....had floor jack under coil spring, a guy told me to put a bottle jack under ball joint for better coil spring compression and it worked.
