I have a 01 GT Conv. When driving the car i hear a squeeking noise coming from the front right fender well. It happens going over all bumps and some extreme uneven roads. Its kind of a rough ride now as well. I'm thinking its either the shocks or struts. The car only has 50,000 miles on it but it is 7 yrs old.

Wondering if anyone has ever had this problem before and what they did to fix it?

It could be the old struts on the front, the shocks are in the back.

It could be a tie rod, I have the same problem except I cut a little slit in the tie rod boot and spray WD40 in there.

Do not cut a slit in the tie rod boot! the tie rod boot is meant to hold grease and there is a fitting on the bottom of the tie rod in which you use a Grease Gun and put grease in there. It could be your struts. I know mine are shot.

Didn't know that there weren't any shocks in the front thats definately helpful. The noise is only coming from the front. Is there any way to tell what the problem is before replacing the struts and seeing if that works. I've always thought that if you replace anything in the front like struts that its best to do it all around?
You know my second, or third or forth question is going to be: What struts are you guys going to get? I'm looking for something a little better than stock but not that expensive.
Thanks for the info

I don't think the struts/shocks are making that noise. I'd start out by changing your bushings in the front, because I'm pretty sure they're shot considering the mileage of your car.
