I started to buy aftermarket accessories for my new 2011 glass roof premi 5.0 hotrod.
Being a retired engineer at 60 I can't stand ordering parts only to find when you install them, they don't fit the 2011. Don't the engineers at these companys test fit their stuff?
When calling the vendor they don't even know the part doesn't fit. Floor mat design is not engine design!
We are very lucky we have so much STUFF to pick from but come on guys don't make me invest in return shipping just to field test your products.

We need a list of stuff that doesn't fit. Think how much we can save as a group in return shipping!

MacNeil weather tech mats W178-50 front/rear mats don't fit 2011 premium.

I thought you were gonna say supercharger, CAI, headers, mid-pipe or cat-back. Something along those lines where labor was involved and you had to put it back to stock.

According to the Weather Tech website FAQ's:

"Mats can be modified using a pair of household scissors or utility knife."

My $15 Wal-Mart mats said the same on the instructions. Mine were even interchangeable between my 03 Cobra and my 2011 GT.

You're right! I don't have time for that either...The vendor who are selling this crap should know what fits and what doesn't!

If I run into something that doesn't fit. I will definetely post it here.

Now I know MacNeil weather tech mats wouldn't fit. I was actually looking at them the other day.

Thanks!

I don't understandI bought the weather tech mats for my 11 GT/CS although I only bought the front set and they fit just fine no problems whatsoever, the holes were a little snug but they still accepted the pegs on the floor.

don't fit

I thought I was ordering custom fit front mats for one hundred bucks. Both sides were not cut to fit the floor pan on the '11. The drivers side was too short. The ford mats were longer. The passengers side doesn't fit the pan. It needs to be wider to fit the sill area. Sure you can throw them in....but they don't really fit.

captbill51:

I suggest that you take some pics and send them with a note/e-mail to MacNeil. They have very good customer service (my experience) and I know they want happy customers. Think about the volume of late model Mustangs on the street and coming onto the street and MacNeil would be foolish to make stuff that doesn't fit. I agree 100% with you: manufacturers ought to check their production pieces (on real cars) to confirm fit.

Congrats on the new ride, too.

Add this to the list: The Billet Grille for 2010-2011 Mustangs do NOT fit the cars that have the CS package Grille. They are made for the grille housings that containg the fog lights. You might ask "well, if you get the CS, why do you need to replace the grille"? Aha! Good question..well, the CS grille is the chrome plastic one. With my Silver CS, I wanted Black so I bought the AM. Muscle one. The pre-welded tabs in there will not insert into the CS grille housing. Im not sure if the Roush one will fit, because the tabs on that grille have to be bolted on, thereby allowing position adjustment. Cant do that with the Am. Muscle ones since the tabs are welded in place.
Disappointed, BUT, AM. Muscle DID give me a full refund without restocking fee, and I just painted the stock chrome one and reinserted it. Just thought you might want to know.

Here is an update to the saga with Weathertech.
I returned the W178-W50 mat set on Nov 27 at a cost of 25 bucks with a RA number attached.
It is bad enough that they don't know they don't fit they can't seem to credit your credit card either.
I called them today Dec 3 and they confirmed that they have NOT credited my account yet...maybe tomorrow. Be careful of these guys.
