The past month or so my car has been missing bad up top, after like 4500 RPM. I changed my plug wires and checked the belt tension on my blower belt...my question is: Is it possible I am mistaking my clutch slipping up top only for a miss? Have any of you had a clutch only slip at the top of the tach, what it feel like? I still have to look at the plugs to see what they look like, cap and rotor are new also.

A slipping clutch would be obvious. RPM's would increase without a corresponding increase in speed. Missing is like a loss in power and has a unique feel to it. No codes being thrown? Could be fuel or electrical related. Depending on when the plugs were last changed I would check them and then fuel pressure although if that was an issue I think you would have a lean condition and hear a knock. I'm betting it's electrical.

Spark blowout?

What are your plugs gapped at? Got a picture of a plug we can look at?

I have mine gapped at 0.028 on stock distributor/TFI, MSD coil and Taylor wires - it pulls up to 6,000rpm where I have it shifting. Using Autolite 24's here.

Plugs look fine to me. We can add backfiring to the list now...
