I purchased two 12" subs with a box included, but the box is way too big for the trunk in my 03 GT. What are some possible set ups for two 12's in a mustang trunk? I was thinking of two smaller single 12 boxes.

Because of the way our trunk is designed the only box you will be able to fit or at least the only ones I have found to fit is 2 10" in a small enclosure or singles in truck boxes which just suck. You might have to take your car down to your local place and just play tetris with different boxes and hope 1 fits. If not this you are looking at some serious bucks to build a custom box. Im gonna go that route with mine eventually but for now I am just putting in the small 2 10" setup like i mentioned.

i fit a JL 3 10's in my trunk by taking everythig out and using a crow bar to get it over the edge, I would pay to see someone try to steal the setup

build your own...

i built my own box for my trunk its relatively easy if you know the max dimensions for a box. I put 1 12" L7 in my trunk and that was more than enough noise because the box was built right. I would say give it hell on your own first its probably cheaper anyway :nice:

I was MORE than satisfied with my setup
1 10" Kicker CVX w/ cheap Fosgate amp had layin round
I made the subbox to fit with the plastic Mach460 amp rack/spbx still in the trunk.
I then made two side panels to cover gaps on the side. On the driverside mounted the amp into the panel for a clean no wires seen look.
But then i do complete custom car audio/video as hobby:D

For the guys lookin to put 2+ 12's, 15's??? in the trunk:notnice:
You don't need it:bs:
One 12 ? 15 or at the most two 10's would be most i would look to put into the trunk of a Mustang?
If done right thats all you will need? My one 10" thumps like two 12's
Just a FYI more, an bigger speakers = more unwanted weight?

My setup weighed ruffly right at 85lbs. And the placement in the trunk i wanted to be atleast over the rearaxle or slightly infront of them.
Giving me a trunk to still use/ not full of speaker box's sliding around

Then made the custom "GT" panel under the trunk lid. Beat's payin $100+? online for it

To each thier own, I just took out the Mach system and that alone has given me a ton of room and losing some weight. If your setup weighed near 85lbs for 1 sub that is extreme I think. I haven't weighed my setup but I would be willing to bet my 15 and box was close to half of that. I also know the setup I had would blow most other setups out of the water and if I had the looks finished on it then it would have been a great setup. The onyl downside on my setup was I lost some access of what I could put in my trunk but I got around that by using the back seat.

 Yeah your right maybe ? 65-70lbs?
First you have a "fiberglass box" = less weight
Second if it was a "JL "15" weighs whopping 16lbs thats before the W7 which weights in at a hefty 52lbs:rolleyes: and you think you could blow them out of the water then :rlaugh: :OT:I'm putting "3" JLAudio 13W7's into an older Cadillac boat thats roughly 160lbs of just subspeakers:shock:

30lbs for my 15" sub. No I don't think I could blow a W7 out, its a better speaker than my W3v2. But I would put my 15 up against your mustang setup. A caddy is a different subject with 3 13W7's.

Cool  :nice:
I'm gettin couple amps together and then goin to change things up in the trunk. try to keep a clean look this time like what I have now. But with two amps mounted where i have just one now. But my third time that i change it up its goin to be "CUSTOM" probly like a fiberglass box with amps molded into it?? got few designs in my head but thats down the road?
 what i can't hear you over my loud music:shrug::D

I'm busy thinking about what I want to go with next. Its definately going to be fiberglass and I'm thinking 1 10 JL w6v2 is what its gonna be. 2 alpine pdx amps pushing everything... if and when I get it done ill post some pictures and you should do the same after yours!
