sub frame connectors on daily driver

I have a 64 1/2 coupe, 325 hp 4 speed daily driver. I have read lots about sub frame connectors for racing/performance. Will they help my daily driver? Thanks, Norm

Yes, you will notice the difference before you pull out of the drive way - overall makes the car feel more solid, bumps/rough roads don't create as many squeeks/rattles/stress on the body - basically they make the suspension do it's job instead of the body taking a hit

They made a big difference on my car. Our unibodies twist in the center - between the frame rails and the subframes really help to limit it. I had mine installed (welded) at a muffler shop.

good choice. best to use weld in connectors, howver if you use bolt in connectors, have them welded in first chance you get.

I purposely buy the bolt-on type connectors because they seem to have more support where they connect to the subframes compared to the true weld on type, THEN I WELD THEM ON.

how much did it cost for you guys to get these welded on? I can weld but i doubt my little flux welder has the juice to get these welded on good enough so im just curious.

I got mine done at an independently owned exhaust shop - i paid $60 cash (one hour labor) to get mine welded... I don't think you can do much better than that for a quality job.

That price was with ME doing all prep at home, i.e. removing all undercoating and paint around areas to be welded, preping the subframes, and checking for fit. Welding was VERY easy for them to do once all the prep was done, probably only took about 40 minutes. I left my interior in, so we moved around quite a bit instead of completly welding a full bead around each end at once. It worked out great!

I am taking out the front frame extensions in mine and using a 2 * 3 * 14ga rectangle tube coupled with my new frame rails to end up with a complete frame from front to back. I bought some new metal working tools and I will be building some new floor pans too. I will be using my tig to weld these things on. With any luck I will have a stiff car at the end of this project.
