Out of respect, I did not want to highjack the subframe connector thread.

I do have a question about alignment. When my Dad did the work on the Mustang, he did some frame welding with the car on jackstands, not with the weight on the tires. He seems to think that the ass end is sagging about 1/2 out of alignment.

I want to put in subframe connectors but I want to correct the problem before I put them in. Here is my question - Is there a way that I can fix the sag?

I thought about placing the car on stands. Taking a 4x4 on screw jacks on rear frame rails and slowly begin jacking up the rear end until the sag is corrected. I think this may do some damage to the welds and even the door jambs. My thinking was to straighten it to take up the slack and then install the subframe connectors to the correct specs.

ANy and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

sagging is usually in the springs, not the chassis. when installing subframe connectors, it should be done with the weight on the suspension for best results, and to prevent twisting the chassis.

I am not sure your frame is out. Mine sat on jack stands on the frame rails for over 18 months while we cut everything out from the firewall to the rear bumper.

Find a level concrete pad and put her up on stands using the frame rails (front and rear), not the front or rear of the car. Get a tape measure and get some readings from the frame rail down to the concrete pad and she how she looks. If it still looks a little goofy let me know as my race rod is up on stands as we speak and I will get the tape out also.

another thing to think about, you can always make them at least tack them together or cut them out near what they need to be measurements wise and always finish them later if you do have problems which i dont think you do when i replaced my floor pans i jacked the whole car up and put roll up style jack stands in the front and regular jack stands on the rear axle tube ( next best thing to havin it on the rear wheels) and i never had any problems
