I did both-bought a set of Maximum Motorsports full length subs on Ebay! They have extensive gussets that stiffen the sub and include T-connectors to bolt the seats to. You won't believe the difference in handling.

I have the D&D motorsports sub-frame connectors. They come with T braces and the ends welded so water can't collect in the connector. I got them for $70 ready to be welded on(non-painted)

I made my own they are full length, and i love them what ever you get, get the full length ones, the only thing my car has done to the suspinsion is the subframe connectors and it pulls 1.53 60ft times.
