Subframe Connectors

If you really want the strongest setup with the most ground clearance, and you don't mind cutting through your floor, consider having a custom set installed as I did on mine. I was also concerned about ground clearance (I'm running '65 Shelby-style side-exit exhaust), so that was one of the main reasons I went this route. Here are a couple pics...

I agree with amorrow, though it is a bit more work there is no substitute for the strength you get from this setup. The sfc's from tcp heidts etc. are nice but in my opinion they dont have enough contact area. When your frame twists there is ALOT of torque there and most sfc's have a mere 4" contact area front and back. I cut out the back of my front subframes and slid some square tubing in until it hit the front frame rails. put a slight Z bend in them and run them along the back from rails til they go up.

I dont think there are many if any sfc's out there to compete with these.

For pre-fab SFC's go Miaer. I've had TCP and currently have Global West. Miaer didn't make SBF's for convertibles until recently. They have more connection points.

I'm thinking about cutting cutting out the globals and going through the floors as Amorrow and MustangChris. Seems like the best way by far. You can seem weld all the panels at the same time.
 
If you are talking about just the SFCs I'd take GW over TCP due to their thickness and round being stronger than square. But if you add in the X-Brace I'd go with TCP. Since my car is a vert I just put a set of GWs on her.

I like the Maier because they are tube and because they have two points of contact per end four total per sub frame. This spreads out the load and makes them super strong.
