not too far back i got some subframes in but they were put on on a lift, not a drive on one. well like a day after that i got my alignment done and then noticed my steering wheel shakes. could the subframes welded in on that lift cause this or did i just get a bad alignment?

Well, when they used the lift, did they load the suspension? Like support it by the A-arms and rear axle? The suspension should be loaded when they get welded on.

I don't think they would cause the shaking in the steering wheel. When it was on a lift, and if the suspension was unloaded, the chassis would be stretched. So, when the car got back onto the ground, the subframes would be trying to hold the chassis in that "stretched" position. It's my guess that you got a bad alignment.

I've gotten a bad alignment before and suffered similar problems. Try another place, particularly one that had done lots of Mustangs, but even that shouldn't matter. You probably just had an alignment by someone who hadn't done it much and wasn't familiar with the equipment.

I haven't heard of a shop putting on subframes wrong (unloaded), but I guess anything is possible. As stated above, probably not your issue.

Sounds more like a bad alignment to me.
