I was told that you had to pull the carpet out of the car so when you welded them in you will not burn the carpet. Can anyone confirm this? I really didnt want to do that.

If you are careful as to how it is welded it should not be a problem. As long as the weld temp is set right and you are not welding in the same area too long all will be fine.

Mine were welded in without carpet removal. To be honest, I have never heard that. But I guess it could make some sense. I don't think you will have any problems. I have had 3 sets welded in on 3 different stangs, and I had no problems.
