Subs + Amp help!

Hi,

I need some help with some subs that I plan on getting. I plan on getting subs but I don't know which one's the best. I've narrowed it down to these three(Each sub will cost the same for me so price isn't a factor):

Apline Sub

MB Quart #1

MB Quart #2

Also the guy at the store told me that I'm going to need this
Amp but it's kinda out of my price range. Is there a cheaper amp that would be able to power 2 subs from the three that I listed?

I run 1 12" sub and it hits hard. Im running a image dynamics IDQ12. Most of the time 1 sub is all you need. It would be easier to help if we knew a budget. If you want a sub youll have to have a amp. The subs you have talked about wont do much IMO. I would check out sounddomain.com, caraudio.com and elitecaraudi.com and see what they are running. there is alot of good equipment on there for sale forums.

You have to have some kind of amp to power a sub. Subs do not power themselves. So, set a price range for yourself and then we can help you better. Figure it this way, at least $50 for the wiring, at least $100 per sub, and at least $1.00 per watt rms for the amp (that figure only applies to 4 ohm). And if you dont build the box yourself, thats another 50-100 bucks.

The cheapest way to do it, is get 1 sub, and get one MONO amp. Thats the cheapest way to get the most power.

Thanks for the replys. I guess my budget would be around $450 since that would be how much I would have to pay at the store but, the cheaper, the better since I'll have more money to do more things towards the stang. Myearshurt would two subs make that much of a difference? My friend said I should go with one but I always taught that most subs should be in pairs and I'm like if I'm gonna do it, do it right. So my budget would be $450 but I would perfer it to be $350. What do you guys suggest?

go cheap, run a Sony combo, 1 sub 1 amp... if you ever decide to upgrade, all you have to do is sell the amp and subs, the wiring is the hardest part, everyhting else is easy to swap.

Honestly I over powered my set up, but at least the wiring is good. Also I would suggest E-bay for the amp... and maybe even the sub(s) then pay the 100 or so for install... OR use crutchfield and they send you a schematic to wire it yourself for free (with purchase)

Depends on what you want. If you want some good sound go with 2 subs. A 5-600 watt amp would be fine. Unless you are trying to go competitive. 2 subs with that size amp sounds real good in a stang. Thats what I have. I do all my own work and it is real simple to do. If you have an aftermarket radio all it is is 3 wires and a set of RCA cables. Constant power fro battery remote wire from power antena wire on radio, ground wire and rca cables to radio. Its that simple

then i would get the memphis amp 500/1 which i can not find on ebay but one pops up every now and then... and oh yeah.. i think ebay is the way to buy because at every store they rip you off.. bigtime.. so even if you dont get the suggested system you should definately check prices on ebay before you buy anything
and that system will knock the air out of you chest... basically,
and try to install it yourself.. or with a frined.. you will find out it is very easy and a learning experience ... but it is time consuming ..but definately worth the saved money plus the box.. wich makes or breaks the system... around 100 at local hi fi store..so its a little over budget.. but like you said.. if you are going to do it... do it right ... you gotta pay to play

One sub is plenty so long as you dont intend on entering in any SPL contests. Get one decent sub, stick with name brands, rockford fosgate, audiobahn, alpine, infinity. Then for the amp, get a mono amp.

My budget system would look something like this...

Dont know if the box volume matches the specs of the sub...but thats just an example. All new components, all good products, well known and tested. All together, less than $350 and its 300 watts rms which is good enough to shake the trunk right up!

Hey, my option even leaves you some money for some dynamat, cause you will need it.

Thanks for the replys. I'm not planning on going competative so I don't need it to be the loudest or the best. I do want something that still has a nice shake to it and it will last for a while. I'm still not sure if I should get one or two subs...

I would start with 1 good sub rather then 2 so so subs and if its not enough then get another.
