what's the easiest way to hook up subs to my stock 460 head unit in my 01 gt conv. i havent looked at the back of it yet...does it have rca hookups? if not is there an adaptor or something i can get? i'm not too experienced with this, and also don't wanna spend too much money... any help would be great

no RCA headunits, but you can wire it up pretty easily, not even have to pull the headunit. There are instructions on www.mustangworld.com I did this on my car and it turned out great!

Don't do it. Get an aftermarket unit with RCA to get the correct signal output for better quality sound. Don't forget to run a low pass crossover (12 or 18 db). You also have a bigger issue since you own a convertible. They are very difficult to get god sound quality in since you do not have the "enclosure" of a hardtop. If you are serious you need to get an aftermarket headunit with RCAs. A converter will work but it will sound awful, especially if you want to run an amp to any mids and highs.

i know that it wont sound as good with a converter, but it wont matter too much because the sub and amp that ive got are stuff that i found in my friends garage and they arent very good, so im just trying to make em work for as cheap as i can.
