Well, I have had the car for 1 year now, (got it for my 16th birthday) And I want to start driving it to school. The Interior needs to be completely redone, as no one would even like to sit in the car for a long period of time....

so.....

the car has 190,000 miles on it, and it is a 3 speed auto. motor has never been torn down, but some smoking. I want some good power and a great interior. I have a set of flowmaster 40 series and tri-y headers that can fit, but I also want a little more power. Does anyone know where I can get some good interior kits cheap? It has 69 front seats, the car is a 68 fastback.

I also want to beef up the suspension a little bit, bit not too major yet , as I will restore it after a few months. What do you suggest.

The car also has manual drum brakes all around. Im gonna put in a power booster, but does anyone know where i could get a disc brake setup for cheap, maybe from a newer stang. Just for the front. The back is gonna be changed to a 9 inch with low gearing and rear discs.

Also.....Sounds! what could I do for a stereo...the back speakers concern me, because I dont want to cut out the trap door. what do you guys suggest?

well, thats all. When this baby hits the road, all the ricres at school will be runnin' back to thier garages!

all replys are greatly appreciated!

A Full suspension rebuild, new springs, prof. rebuild of the steering box, idler arm bearing, quicksteer, Shelby drop, roller perches, and modded control arms, Monte bar, Export brace, subframe connectors, performance alignment, 1" front sway, and shocks. That should get you going, along with front discs. A self-rebuild of a C4, full performance innards runs $300 or so. Depending on which 69 seats these are, you can use 68 upolstrey. An upolstey kit is $1300 or so.

Really, though, what are you asking? I'd go as is with a towel over the seats! :D You can see my recommendations from both my posts.

Honestly, I'd finish the exhaust, slap in some Wally World seatcovers and go. Add 6x9s in the package tray and a dual speaker setup up front, and cut the bezel for a modern stereo. Add a pair of handmade 1cu/ft boxes to the trunk with Blaupunkt 10"s ($50ea) and a 60Wx2 amp. $400 stereo, $60 interior, $300 exhaust. I'd use a R&C RC132 front disc kit. $350 and all else you need is a MC and adj. prop valve ($65). So you should be going for $1300+ misc. :D There is no such thing as a good cheap interior kit. $1300 would be about the cost, and that's DIY. :( I was going to do the same to my 66, but it got a bit..err complicated.
