Can you guys give me a recommendation on what rims to buy for 06 GT? Primarily in terms of size but any brand/model suggestions would be great as well. I was thinking something 18x10 in the back and like 18x9 in the front. I have however not seen any Stangs in person with anything but stock rims and the wide ones i have seen in mags and online were 19s and i want to keep it at 18. I am looking for something that sticks out a bit and maybe the same width in front and back but i thought you guys have likely given this a lot of thought already and your opinion would be greatly appreciated. I just want something that looks more aggressive and deeper dish, just not anything that would harm performance and/or have a negative impact on the ride (much). I currently have the Fanblade style 18 factory rims and the car is black. Thanks a lot!

depends on your budget, mustangtuning.com has deep dish bullits in the 18x10 and 18x9 sizes you want. but personally, and i never thought i would ay this, leave the factory wheels on for now, they look really good with a drop and spend some money on some power parts. but thats just my opinion. but mustangtuning is probably your best bet for mustang specific wheels, other wise hit the big companies like HRE that make custom offset wheels in different diameters and widths to fit your specific needs. only thing with them, they are about $1000 a wheel

18x10 and 18x9 will be just fine on the car. Just make sure you stick with a +45mm offset to keep them in the wells. If you find a wheel that's a +42mm 0r even a +40mm, that would still work. Stay as close to +45mm as you can. Try tirerack.com too.

Something to think about is what width of tire you want to upgrade to along with wheels. Wider wheels mean more rotational mass that has to be accelerated and dampened by the suspension. Wider wheels usually mean wider tires too, tires that you may or may not need depending on how you drive the car. There's no reason to put huge staggered tires on a car unless you just want it aesthetically or you have a host of suspension modifications to use the extra grip.

A lil wider tire on the rear would make them look a lot meaner.

Thnaks a lot for the posts. I am looking for both look and performance out of the upgrade. Are you guys famaliar with FRPP's Handling Pack (M-2005-FR3)?

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=8976

I plan to get this package and install it, what type of effect good or bad would it have in regard to tire size? Would larger (wider) tires compliment this package?

In regard to how i drive the car i drive it pretty hard but it is mostly straight line acceleration and not so much cornering. At the same time i don't really like how it handles right now and more grip at higher speeds while on S-curves and agressive lane changes and so forth would also be desirable. I think the bigger wheels and tires look better but I am also looking for a performance boost. Thanks a lot.
