summit headers = BBK?

I was looking at the headers from summit and BBK and noticed they look identical. Although the summit headers are made of thicker 14 ga steel and the BBk's are 16 ga. What do you guys think? Top pic is BBK bottom is Summit.

only thing i see diff. is the missing bbk plaque on the summit headers otherwise they look kinda the same.

thats all it looks like to me too... i was told the summit brands are made cheaper, just to spend the extra cash and get the better brand name.. which is all your paying the extra 40 dollars is for the BBK name

I just got the Summity ceramic coated shorties. They are excellent, quality is as good as any other header I've ever bought and the price is right

Actually they are both 3/8 and the summits tubes are thicker metal than BBK. They look nothing like the flowtechs.

On many parts, they're made by brand-name companies for Summit. A clear example is the aftermarket wiring harnesses -- made by Painless Wiring and same instructions, but with the brand changed to Summit.

I bought the summit headers too, they fit fantastic, the flanges are thick, and they still look new.

I'll see if I can do a test-fit tonight. Initial inspection looks pretty good though.

The weird thing about all of this is that basically the same header made for a classic 302 will set you back at least $450. Just installed a set of JBA ceramic shorties on my mom's '68 and she got them "on sale" for $450. They are almost identical to the Summit shorties for 5.0!
