anyone ever use the summit racing seats?? My driver's side seat has a mild tear in the bottom on the side but my passenger seat is perfect...I wanna switch to seats that are much lighter weight but I don't wanna pay more than I can for sure get back with selling my seats..the summit ones are cheap and I was just wondering if they are decent at all and how well they bolt in??

Are you talking about their $200 pleather seats, or their $30 plastic racing seats?

I have the $30 racing seats. I just installed them. They ****ing rock! VERY light weight. They do not bolt-in, you will have to drill holes in your floor pan to mount them. This is not hard if you know how to use a drill and spin an wrench.

The seats are very supportive and are actually pretty comfortable with the matching Summit padded covers.

Have any pics dude ? :D

I don't have any pictures...I could take some, but my pop has my digital camera right now and I won't see him until Sunday.

They saved ALOT of weight- I'd guestimate that the stock cloth seats weighed 50lbs each. These seats can not be more than 15lbs each including mounting brackets.

Passenger seat (cloth) weighs 37 lbs. Driver's seat (also cloth) I'm sure weighs more due to power adjusting. Not sure exactly, never pulled it out before.

I guess they acould be. I just figured the driver's seat would be heavier since it was a power seat. Then again it could only be a couple lbs. I took my passenger seat out earlier and am thinking about leaving it out for a little while. Plus, I have my grad party coming up saturday and am gonna need all the room I can get in my car for all the crap I gotta take to and from the party, lol.

I've got them sitting right next to each other in my closet, jtkz13. Lifting each one, I can't tell a difference. If the driver's seat is heavier, it's a small difference.

CManT1914, I don't know exactly what they weigh, but at most I'd say 15lbs for the actual plastic seat and another 3 for the mounting brackets. Those are REAL high estimates.

I was looking into those just for the reclinability but chose to use the Corbeau Forza seats instead. Lost my recline function, BUT I lost a ton of weight going to that seat. $220 a piece. With the Corbeau brackets for both seats i was out the door for $641. I like them verey much.

Yupp, here they come,,,

Just thought Id put that last one in, I dyed all interior parts to black and this is how the dash came out. Just gotta finish putting it all together.

I put the Summit Racing seats in my 98. They cost $199.99 each, So far I really like them, at 1st I was worried about how the quality might be, but they have been in the car for a few months now and still look like they are brand new. Like someone else said, they are not a direct bolt in, I ended up using the two studs up fron and drill two holes for the rear. I also changed my interiot from tan to black, I got all black parts from a local junkyard except the dash which I decided to paint myself, it turned out pretty good I think, it looks really shiny, but I liked the armorall look anyway, here are some pics of everything.
