Pretty much I need to decide between a summit universal fit or the mishimoto. Any comments or complains are welcomed.

Summit vs. Mishimoto

The Summit universal radiator requires welding some brackets on to get it installed correctly. I don't know if you remember Jason (mytight95) and when he had one, but it was done on the cheap. Unfortunately, the pics are gone, but I found the original thread from 2006, if it might give you some pointers, plus a couple other related threads:

I've got the Mishimoto, and so far I've had no problems. It's a very nicely made piece, and went right in with no modifications. I was running at 210*+ whether it be 30* outside or 90*. After installing the rad, a 180* stat, and a low speed manual fan switch, it runs at 180* without the fans in cooler whether (60* and below), and 190*ish on hot days with the fans turned on intermittently. It cost me $10 for the thermostat and $10 for the switch, a fuse, and some wire, and if you haven't already done these mods, do them at the time of radiator install and it will make a huge difference.
I have had zero problems withmy summit universal! It was inexpensive and fits very well after a couple of slight mods to the install!! (and I am picky)

Be careful there. I have always found if the price is waay different, you are lucky to get it or have all kinds of trouble with the $$ transaction.

I'm very happy with the performance of my Mishimoto, and I think it looks great under the hood too.

I might go with the mishi if I can take off the Mishomoto Plate....I dont wanna have to explain the radaitorr every time i opwn the hood
i would go with the misho since its drop in, no mods needed
i had to trim my fan shroud a lil to get it to fit on the summit rad. to get it in the car was pretty simple, just had some hooks bent up similar to how the fox radiators are held in and used the stock rubber lower mounts

I just installed a Mishimoto this weekend due to a small leak in my stock rad. I payed around $200 for it shipped. The Mishimoto fits perfectly and seems like it is very good quality. It took a little longer than most people say to install which is about 2 hours. It took me about 3 hrs. because I take my time and this was my first rad install. So far so good. It runs a little cooler than the stock rad. I would say go with the Mishimoto because it doesn't require any mods to fit.

Yeah, if you're really worried about people seeing it, just order another plastic cover if you don't have your original. The only thing you can see on my car with the plastic cover on that says Mishimoto is the radiator cap. And if you want you can get a new 16lb cap from napa or autozone for under $10 and no one will ever know. I could care less what people say. If they think none of the wiring or sensors that came factory on Mustangs isn't from Japan they are probably very wrong. As long as it does its' job don't worry about where it's from.

I have to say that my mishimoto radiator died. I hit a pothole that really bottomed the car out, and the braze joint at 5 of the fins cracked. No damage to the radiator other than this. Since this would not be covered under warranty I am uncertain if I am going to go with another mishimoto or not.
The fit on my car was not that good (pass side was a tight fit at the bottom, this could have helped to cause it to fail)... So I am not sure what I am going to do but my stocker leaks when it is cold out and doesn't cool well when it is hot out.

I have compared the Mishimoto side by side to a Fluidyne and the quailty is right there, plus there seems to be too many Fluidyne's leaking on this forum....and they cost 2 times as much!!
Not sure why you had a fitment issue....has your car ever been in a front end collision?
I bought the universal Summit one for 160 and it only cost 3 dollars for the mounts to get it on there from home depot .And it holds more water than the Mishimoto radiator and the fluidyne.I had the fluidyne and it started to leak after 3 years I was more inpress with the summit one the welding and the quality of the work they put into it and from my experience the summit radiator has kept my car cooler than the fluidyne did and since the Mishimoto is the same design I was hesitant to get it due to the fluidyne leaking .

StangGT1995- This one was very good, Thanks!! I really learned something about how the new coolant coats the tubes of a new rad and looses alot of what it needs.
