That is correct, it is coming from under the seal which is why I asked if sealant is needed under there. Not sure what the factory did because I did not remove the headliner nor replace the original gasket.

I have not tried that but I will. We are supposed to have some dry weather later this week.

Honestly, I do not know what brand seal this is. I am pretty sure it came from LMR though 15+ years ago. My friend changed it when the sunroof first started leaking but that leak was from the yellow plastic retainers.

I have a new seal but was waiting to install it when I did the headliner. I am pretty sure the new one is a DC but I have not laid eyes on it in a while. Maybe I should just change it when I check the flow of the drains and see what happens?

Gasket does compress. I know the sunroof flex's/moves some while driving, like on bumps. And I want to say I hear air/wind thru it when I am on the freeway but it is hard for me to tell for sure because the drivers window channel is wasted so I hear wind all the time. The window channel is another thing I wanted to do last year before the weather changed on me.

Thanks for all the ideas. I appreciate it

Speaking of those yellow plastic retainer things, I'm noticing that I'm getting some water pooling/dripping from those yellow things. I can see that they go through the body there (two or three bolts per yellow thing, cant remember), and it appears that the sealant they used, perhaps original from the factory, is just staring to give up the ghost. What's the correct way to fix this leaking area (the yellow things)? The entirety of the interior is currently out of the car (except for a driver seat and dashboard), so now is the time to get that all squared away.

Thanks for your help!

The factory used a gasket between the body and the 'yellow thing'. I used RTV on mine.

I am on the fence if I should reseal the yellow things before I put the headliner in. Part of me is saying it isn't leaking so I should just leave it alone. The other part of me is not crazy about the RTV long term as this car will continue to live outside unfortunately and here is Oregon we get rain regularly. RTV has been there probably 10-15 years now. I was thinking I would use the butyl stuff, like what is used on the 1/4 windows. Thoughts?

So it has been raining the last few days here and I am happy to report that so far there is no more water leaking from the sunroof gasket.

Another update. We got a lot of rain again this week. No leaks when parked but during hard braking I started getting drips from the same spot on the drivers side this time. We had a nice break in the middle of the storms so I put my new gasket on. I also played with the latch as it was loose and did not latch tight. Looks like someone has been there before. It had a different number of rubber bushings and washers on each side. And I was missing a set screw on one side as well. I bought the kit from LMR a few years back and only used the front hinge pieces to date but their kit does not come with the rubber washers and come with different metal washers than what is on my latch assembly. I rigged it again because it looked like it was going to rain. I did go to the HW store and got another set screw for the one side that was missing. Can someone post a picture to what the latch assembly hardware is supposed to look like? I thought I took a picture of what mine looked like but I guess I didn’t. Thanks

Just seeing this. I'll try to snap a picture of mine asap, but it's raining cats and dogs here in Tulsa, at the moment!
