I went to the Vegas Shelby plant and I think they are more about volume than quality control. Their guys work 4 10 hour shifts and put together 4 cars per day and if you don't get those 16 done in the week, you have to come in on Friday to finish, so that tells me they're all about slapping the cars together.

Like my boss pointed out the other day, Shelby is 85 years old and has had a liver transplant(i think). It's only a matter of time till he passes, then you won't be able to even look at a Shelby Mustang as they will all be bought because of their increase in value.

I don't believe that the newer Shelbys will ever see the kinds of value increase as the originals(I could be wrong however, there are always people out there willing to pay the asking price). So the ones that have paid anywhere from $10-30K+ over MSRP will see that increased value? How long the dealers had the markup has given me a bad taste for the recent run of Shelbys. They are very good cars for sticker price...no higher. Ever wonder why there was a HUGE markup on the Shelbys sitting on the Ford lots and NOT the Roush or Saleen?

Yep, always some sucker willing to pay for an inferior car with one of the cheapest badges I've ever seen on a car with very little input from the man whose name it is. If Shelby died tomorrow, there are still too many Shelbys out there to make any difference in value and what....Ford would stop making them? I think not. For the mark-ups I've seen, maybe he's dead already.....

I agree with Kooldawg6, these cars will never be worth any more than any other desirable SVT performance car - though it's quite possibly the first ever production collectors car...

Yeah, outside the crazy prices you see at Bar"rape"-Jackson auctions, I don't see theses Shelbys going for much more then dealer markup prices...I believe they will become bargains once the Camaro and Challenger are released.

It seems most of those are for charity and end up being HUGE tax write offs anyhow. It's a good cause, but people get too big of egos what their cars are worth while watching that...
