Whats going on guys? I have a 2002 Gt Automatic, Im almost finally done paying it off now its time for to start making mods. I would like to supercharge it with a Vortech 6-8 psi or kenne bell supercharger, which one would be best?. so far I have a flowmaster catback, mac intake, and bbk pulleys.

What other mods would I have to do to keep it running correctly with the super charger installed?
Would I need an intercooler?

thanks so much, Im new at this modification thing!! :banana

by the sound of things your car is basically ran solely on the street in which case go with the kb. the centrifugal blower(ATI, vortech, ETC.) are nice for peak power but it is just that, PEAK. all of the fun is at the top of the rpm band which means you have to twist on the motor harder to get the full effect of the blower. this means you'll be at higher speeds to feel the power and therefore less safe on the street. with the kb you're getting all of its torque basically instantly. see where that would be more fun for a street car? kb has two options with the 1.7L kits. intercooled or non intercooled. do you NEED and intercooler, no. is it a good idea, yes. an intercooler will give you more room for your boost to grow. without an ic you're pretty limited. with that being said, if you get a kb 9psi intercooled kit you'll get everything required in the kit to make the blower bolt right on and fire up no late night parts store runs or anything like that. you will have to ditch the pulleys though, underdrive pulleys and blowers dont work. i'm not sure if the mac cai will work or not. hope that helped

Yes, the MAC CAI will work, I have it on mine. To make it work like the KB air kit, upgrade to the Lightning MAF and a TB. I used the Accufab.
