i jsut did a S/C on a stocker, and i changed quite a few things, not ALL needed, but most were. And you're gunna need a new clutch.

The s/c kit from vortec is a good kit to start off with on a stock.

The least you should also do is a 255lph fuel pump.

Mass air conversion is not required, but would help out with the drivablity.

I first bought a vortec s/c from Powered By Ford in Florda. Great deal only $1600, plus free shipping.

Warning, you will want more. Look at me I started at with stocker, than stocker with sc, Now the car is in the garage torn all apart for the last year, working on a DIY turbo kit.

It gets to be a exspensive drug.

Since it's an '84, is it carburated?

I have an old Paxton SN92 on a stock '90 5.0 with 135k miles. The SC has been on about 5k miles. I'm running 5-6 psi, and everything's held together so far.

It is worth mentioning I do not race the car, and very seldom drive it hard. It's my daily driver, and I can't afford to break it right now, cuz I can't afford to fix it.

Try asking around at www.superchargerhelp.com, those guys are very knowledgable.
