have you tried to line up the bracket? i think it should work since both the Cobra block and your block are Windsors. as far as the discharge tube, you'll probably have to call up Vortech direct and order one.

Phone us at 805.247.0226 between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (PST)

Fax us at 805.247.0669

Mail us at 1650 Pacific Avenue, Channel Islands, CA 93033-9901

no i talked to a tech guy at vortech and he told me that everything is different (including head unit) and just the inlet, discharge tubes and brackets will run me about 700 bills. i am gonna buy the steeda boost pipe (discharge) but i need an intake pipe. you think i can modify my mac cold air intake to fit the blower????

i think someone is feeding you some bull about the head unit. if it says S-trim on it, it should be the same as mine. at any rate, the head unit will work. the discharge tube is the one going from the supercharger to the throttle body. it would be really hard to make one yourself. the boost pipe is the intake pipe. i don't see any reason why the one with the kit wouldn't work, but a boost pipe will add some boost.

here is the instruction manual for the GT kit. http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/pdf/manuals/4fh4fl218im.pdf

try to see if the bracket you have fits before ordering a new one. see page 13 of the instructions. you should be able to just hold the fixture up to the engine and see if the bolt holes line up. if they do, mount the blower on the bracket and hold it up to the engine again. if everything looks like it lines up well, i don't see why it would not work. as far as i know, the pulley system and bolt patterns on the 4V is the same as your GT. that's why i find it odd that the 4V bracket is different.

Db you are the *****. i appreciate all of the help. Yeah, vortech wants to try and sell me a bracket for $289!! for a f*kin bracket!! I will duct tape this kit to my car before i spend $300 for a bracket. if all goes well i will definatly trade you injectors since you helped me out. the vortech guy also told me that I do not need an FMU, i just need the calibration tube for the massair meter, but i will need a custom chip made. Would you reccomend superchips, hypertech, diablo? any suggestions? what size fuel pump did they provide with tyour kit?

they tune on the chip is more important than the type of chip. all of them will do the job if it's got a good tune on it. your best bet would be to find a tuner local to you and have him dyno tune it for you. whichever chip he is comfortable with is what i recommend going with.

the fuel pump that came with my kit was a Walboro 255lph. but it is not intended to be used with our returnless fuel system. so i recommend against getting the Walboro. i picked up a Chicane 238lph pump off of Ebay for $120. you can also go with the dual Steeda pumps at www.steeda.com they are $400.

yea the kit comes with a T-rex 255lph fuel pump, pre-programmed FMU (for 4v motor), injectors, mass air.

I havent got my hands on the bracket yet to check. I will be receiving the kit on sunday in trade for my 92 GT.

i'm assuming the kit is from a 96-98 Cobra, right? i'm almost positive the T-rex pump won't work for you. i believe that is for the return style fuel system only. and you don't need the FMU with the return style fuel system.

the instructions for the 96-98 Cobras has instructions for the T-rex. the 99 and up does not. and 99 is when Ford switched to the returnless fuel system.

this is what i think you need. but i really can't be 100% sure.

returnless style fuel pump
stuff under discharge tube on pg ix here http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/pdf/manuals/4fh4fl218im.pdf

but it's really hard to tell without being able to see how that bracket fits on your car. see page 12 and 13 of the instructions to see if the bracket fits.
