Quick question for those of you knowledgable in the SC area.

Lets say I wanted to supercharge my car and had everything but the head unit. Does it matter what car the unit is made for? I know kits are sold for 96-98 GT, 96-98 Cobra, 99+ Cobra, 99+GT, but is the actual head unit (Say a V-1 S-Trim) different from kit to kit or is it just the mounting hardware and other accessories that are different. I'm considering buying a used head unit but I want to know if I have to know what the unit is made for or not! Thankya

The unit itself is the same. The piping is different, and the SC mounting bracket. Your better off buying a complete kit- it's cheaper.

Wanna bet?
I can get everything minus the head unit, MAF, Fuel Pump and Injectors for $667 (brand new)
Used head unit for around $800 brings the total to $1467. Everything else totaled up brings a final price of about $2000

Guess you found a good deal. But it's a hassle to part all that crap together. I paid $2000 shipped for my set up, including the IC

It's not that big of a hassle I guess if I want to save $1000 or so. Everything can be purchased off superchargersonline, then finding the rest of that stuff is just finding the right prices for stuff. I'm not in a hurry so I can handle looking over a longer time period.
