yes it's safe on stock internals, safe with full bolt ons and stock internals too. KB has a decent safe tune. Modular Power House has a bit more power in their tune and till bery safe with their KB mongoose kits.

If you want to up the boost, then yeah, start beefing the internals up. At which level you need to do that though, some one else will have to answer.

positive displacement superchargers put a lil more strain on the engine than others i've seen - maybe likely due to its instant power delivery, but i'd say that around 410+ you're going to want to think about some forged parts. Although if you have full bolts on and you just happen to make like 410-420 on a safe tune then i think you should be fine. Just make sure it's intercooled

mine has been fine so far, probably pushing it,but it is fun. you have to use your head though.I only hammer the throttle(from 2000 to 2500) in 2nd or third. in 4th I am a little more gentle, never hammer it in 5th. besides by the time I hit the top of third I have enjoyed the thrill of the g- forces and I am exceeding any speed limit(in U.S.) so have no need to push it farther, this on the street, track a different deal.

KBs do put more strain on the motor itself and the most psi you would want to run on a stock 4.6 GT block is 9 psi....i myself have a vortech v2-sq pushing 10 psi

Keep it under 400rwhp (which is a little more than the 9psi intercooled version of the kit puts out) and you'll run fine. Don't run it hard with less than 1/4 tank of gas in the tank and always make sure you're running a minimum of 91-Octane at all times. Also, be conservative with the throttle on hot sweltering days, or super cold mornings and you'll keep her together.

your engine will most likely be fine up to 450whp. although a twin screw type blower is more stress on the engine compared to a centrifugal. I ran 10-11 lbs for about a year and now I'm running 13-14lbs on the stock block/tranny/clutch ...if she blows, she blows.

What kind of fuel pump are you running (SVT-F)? I don't get into boost when I get to the quarter tank mark, I pretty much treat it as Empty with my Focus Pump.

Come to think of it, you'd probably still be alright at about 1/4, but anything less than 1/8th is pushing it (especially with the so-so accuracy of the stock fuel gauge). The chances of the fuel sloshing to one side of the tank and the pickup sucking in a big gulp of air are high when there’s so little fuel in there and that momentary lean spike could be a recipe for a burnt piston and a broken engine. Not such a big deal with a N/A engine, but once a power adder is concerned and you're cramming all that additional volume of air in the cylinder, making sure you've got enough fuel added to the mix at all times is crucial!

All I know is that I think I saw something from KB that said you should not run it with less than 1/4 tank. I think I saw it in an engine bay of a car with one on it. Not sure though.
