I've been checking on pricing between supercharger...
Im trying to find the best bang for the buck really. Ive found 2 that caught my eye for pricing. But all inclusive kits, 6psi $2100, 8PSI $3000, I believe the brand was paxton... i Cant remember, would have to check the summit catalog again. Anyways, how much hp ect would i get from 2 additional psi? is it $900 worth? or should i use that other 900 and invest in another mod? Also an intake that would work well? Any intake suggestions for a blown 5.0 (Still Fuel injected btw)
the kit just includes all the mounting equiptment and the CAI/pulley ect. And if anyone knows of a supercharger at a better price for the power, please inform me... lol

is your motor stock? here is what I did a few years back. I bought an A trim Vortech, then bought an Anderson power pipe, upgraded vortech discharge tube, with bypass, and also bought the bigger crank pulley. The motor was completely stock, and ran great, it boosted 8-10psi........ran 10.80 , 1000ft on bfg street radials.......

i bought the SC trim from vortech i got the whole kit from superchargers4less.com for 2000 shipped. the SC trim is the replacment to the A trim, flows a bit more and has an S trim impellar, the only difference b/w the SC and S trim is the internal gearing,

out of the box on my combo it made 5 psi

i added a boostmaster pipe from UPR, added a bypass valve and a 7 inch crank pulley like the above poster and it made a diffence. on my car it makes 8-9 psi, i have some fuel issues to sort out to get it running better but i can feel the power is there.

before my blower i ran a best of 13.3 @ almost 103 mph

added the blower, messed with timing and FP and drive the car hard and went 12.45 @111 with the stock vortech setup making 5 psi

added the power pipe and drove it harder and managed my best so far of 12.16 @ almost 113 making about 6 psi.

its making 8-9 psi now but i added some injectors which are causing some rich problems once i get it sorted out i expect to be in the 11s

if you get the SC trim you will make a very conservative safe 5-6 psi, it will help out alot. you can upgrade pulleys, a bigger crank and blower pulley and probably push 11-12 psi on a stock(ish) i wouldnt push it much past that though, you start getting out of the blowers effieciency range.

the s trim out of the box will make 8-10 on a stock engine. then can be upgraded and there are alot of guys making 15-17 psi with an s trim and thats some serious boost. make sure you have a good bottom end and the like to take the pressure.

if you plan to get serious i'd get the s trim and work up if you like. if you want a small kick and some room to grow a bit an SC trim works fine. i am very happy with my SC trim

If you were looking at paxton, get a novi 1000, anderson powerpipe, 8" crank pulley, and a upgraded bypass valve. Remember your going to need injectors, a inline and a intank pump. Then a tune.

SC's are nice too, do the same thing as with the novi 1000 and you'll get basicly the same results. I believe the 1000 is just a hair smaller then the Strim and the sc is smaller then the 1000. Anyways, if your going to spend 3k+ look into a turbo setup...
